    PULLMAN – Pullman Police arrested Jose Mata, 29, the evening of April 28 on charges of alleged harassment with intent to kill. Officers responded to an apartment complex on Terre View Dr. at approximately 8:30 p.m. According to the arrest reports, the occupants of the apartment, Daniel Norfolk, 20, and Benjamin Holmes-Scanlon, 19, were doing homework on their balcony.     COLFAX – A Lewiston woman was booked into Whitman County Jail Saturday on charges of possession of heroin with intent to deliver, possession of fentanyl, possession of methamphetamine and driving under the influence following a traffic stop. Hannah Barnes, 24, was stopped by Whitman County Deputy Cory Alcantar at about 9 p.m. Saturday in downtown Colfax after he observed multiple traffic violations.     Census return numbers at the end of April show Colfax with 66.1 percent returns which is above the county, state and national rates. Colfax is 39th for returns in the state. Whitman County is ranked 19 for Census 2020 returns with 51 percent of the county having filled out and returned their census forms, online or by paper.     PULLMAN – The Lost Apple Project has been busy this past year with rediscovering 10 once lost apple varieties, one of these being near Pullman. With these recent discoveries, the total of rediscovered apples in eastern Washington and northern Idaho is now 23.     Whitman County Library book-drops are now open for the return of materials in all 14 branch locations. WCL staff will be emptying the drops regularly but with nearly 4,000 items checked out they ask your assistance in continuing to hold items should you encounter a full book-drop.     PULLMAN – Whitman County deputies responded the morning of May 1 to a vehicle rollover accident on a farming access road just north of Pullman. The vehicle, a late model Ford pickup truck, had four juvenile occupants at the time of the accident. Two of the youth were transported to Pullman Regional Hospital via ambulance for possible neck and back injuries. The other two reported minor injuries.
