    COLFAX - The Colfax High School track team is in the midst of a flurry of meets in a shortened season, acting as a home fill-in location for teams not permitted to host.     COLFAX — Colfax city council went against citizens wishes and voted 4-3 to ban chicken ownership in the city. Statistics from a public poll showed a 4-1 margin in support, but city councilman Jim Kackman made a motion to pass the ordinance, which dealt with dog licenses and chicken ownership, and strike the section allowing chickens to be kept in the city.     COLFAX — A Pullman man is accused of entering the home of two people and taking things, while they are in jail facing charges of selling methamphetamine. Nicholas I. Woltering, 35, of Pullman, was charged on May 5 in Whitman County Superior Court with trafficking stolen property in the first degree, a felony, and for driving while his license was suspended in the third degree.     ROSALIA - Three Rosalia mobile homes were destroyed by fire on April 29 after fires set to burn tall grass got away from the landowner.     COLFAX — A Georgia man was sentenced to 15 months in prison for threatening to expose a woman’s nude photos if she didn’t send him more. Jordan Bowen, 24, of Newman, Georgia, pled guilty on April 30 in Whitman County Superior Court to extortion in the second degree with sexual motivation.
