Rosalia’s band program is looking to get students take-home music stands. The stands will belong to the band program, but will be free for students to check out each year. Quality wire music stands cost about $15 each. Stands for all 70 band students in grades 5-12 will cost between $900-$1,000. A donation of any amount is appreciated. The first annual “Harvest of Quilts” show has been scheduled for July 27 at Rosalia. The show will feature quilts which will be on display along the downtown area and shops at other buildings. Marianne Morkve, a member of the Rosalia Third Thursday quilting group, said between 40 and 50 quilts have been signed up to date for the event. Rosalia Schools Friday hosted the Trot for Tots walk-a-thon in which students pledge to walk laps for donations. This was the sixth year of the event. The featured charity this year was HOPE School in Spokane. HOPE stands for Hearing Oral Program of Excellence. They provide services/therapy for children ages birth through four years who are dealing with hearing loss. Rosalia Rosalia's Mike Day returned to his residence here April 19 after more than two months of hospitalizations and rehabilitation recovery. Day underwent major surgery in Spokane and then resided at Whitman Health and Rehab in Colfax. He then underwent additional surgery and resided at a recovery center in Post Falls. Rosalia The students and community of Rosalia High School brought in the most units of blood since 2011 with a record breaking 13 units. Nineteen community members came out April 20 to support the annual blood drive which lead to its great success. Each unit of blood can save up to three lives and makes a huge impact on the local community. The Inland Northwest Blood Center is the sole provider of blood to area hospitals and relies on volunteer donors to help keep fully-stocked shelves....
