Oakesdale defeats Liberty; Vikings stop Timberwolves

Oakesdale Nighthawks extended their string on the new V-net season to 3-0 Tuesday night by taking out Liberty in a four-game battle 25-15 25-16 16-25 and 26-24. Madison Shrope put up 26 assists and two block and hit four aces off the line.

Brookly Henley booked 15 kills against the Lancers, and Logan Reed had 16 digs.

Maisie Burnham hit 19 kills and booked nine blocks to lead Libery.

Last Wednesday, Oakesdale dropped Pomeroy 25-10, 25-21, and 25-11 with Reed hitting 15 kills and booking seven digs. Shrope had 26 assists and five aces against the Pirates.

Oakesdale will depart Friday to play in the SunDome tourney at Yakima.

Garfield /Palouse took out Tekoa/Rosalia 25-9 25-19 and 25-15 in the Tuesday round with Payson Griner rapping 19 kills and Katie Arrasmith hitting three aces. Addison Claussen had eight assists for the Timberwolves.

Colton Tuesday advanced to 3-0 on the season with a three-game non-league win at Grangeville, 25-16 26-24 and 25.12. Freshmen Josie Schultheis and Rylee Vining each booked six digs. Jordyn Moehrle had six kills and seven digs for the Wildcats who will play at Asotin tonight.

Colton last Wednesday topped Tekoa/Rosalia 25-15 25-11 and 25-13 on the Wildcats’ court. Moehrle had 10 digs and hit 13-13 serving. Maggie Pluid hit 23-23 serving and Kelly had 15 assists.

St. John/Endicott Monday hosted Davenport and dropped the first game to the Gorillas 21-25. The Eagles came back to take the next three games and the match, 26-24 25-20 and 25-11.

Riley Lamb hit 12 kills at the Eagles, and Glory Dickerson lofted 17 assists and hit six aces.

The Eagles are slated to play at LaCrosse today in a non-league round.
