Spring cleanup week

Whitman County Spring Cleanup week has been scheduled April 16-28 for residents. The rate will be $35 per ton with a $15 minimum. Residents are encouraged to haul in old appliances and other scrap metal, used oil and engine fluids, household cleaners, yard fertilizer and yard trimmings. Recyclables include glass, plastics, aluminum, tin, mixed paper, newspapers and cardboard. Hours at the landfill are 8 to 5 Monday through Saturday. The discount rate is limited to waste from residents and does not apply to commercial haulers or businesses.
