PBS series seeks vintage businesses

Jamie E. McDonald, author and director of the Emmy-award winning PBS series and book “New York Originals,” is looking for classic shops and manufacturers to feature in a similar nationwide PBS series. In particular, he is looking for old stores or shops, restaurants, bars or factories that are at least 40 years old and have a patina or classic feel to them.

“I am especially interested in ones that are kind of off the map or not as well-known,” McDonald told the Pullman Chamber of Commerce. Proprietors on the Palouse who think their business may qualify should contact the Pullman Chamber of Commerce.

McDonald is a former producer who has worked at CBS and FoxNews. His “New York Originals” aired on more than 40 PBS stations and will return to PBS Jan. 5.
