Missing Colfax boy found sleeping at home

A search for a missing Colfax boy was called off at approximately 7:45 p.m. Saturday when he was located under a desk in the basement of his residence. Colfax officers and volunteers had been called out to search for the five-year-old boy after receiving a report that he was missing just before 7 p.m.
Chief Bill Hickman said the boy and his younger brother were out playing in their yard without permission. They were told to come inside, and the youngest boy came into the house. His father was unable to locate the other youngster outside and called the police.
The boy apparently crept back into the basement of house without being noticed. When he was found he was sleeping, Chief Hickman said.
