Hospital highlights
May 23, 2012
During this month, we celebrate the wonderful staff who provide care to our patients and visitors.
I wanted to share a letter I received from a patient who happens to live in Orofino. He told me he would come back to Whitman Hospital and Medical Center if he ever needs surgery again. His comments reflect a consistent theme I hear from our patients:
“I just wanted to let you and your staff know how much I enjoyed my stay at your hospital. Thank you seems so inadequate. I was treated with the utmost care and respect. The care I received from your staff was outstanding! The two times I hit my call button my need was immediately taken care of. On one occasion when the nurse could not come directly, someone answered over the speaker and within a few minutes I was taken care of. Outstanding care/customer service was the name of the game.
“I cannot say anything negative about my stay. I do not remember the names of the staff who took care of me, but they all introduced themselves and names were written on the board. I felt treated as a special honored guest by all. There is one, Tammy, my night nurse who stands out. She was instrumental in keeping my pain level under control. The care I received extended to my home as well. Staff attended to my wife’s needs. They waited for her and made arrangements to include her in making sure I understood my home recovery needs. They made sure she had the tools/knowledge/help for my recovery.
“I hope this letter shows my appreciation to you and your staff for the excellent care not only for me but towards my wife as well for ensuring a speedy, healthy, relaxed recovery.”
