Deadline approaches for Ice Age Tour-2

The deadline for reserving seats for Ice Age Tour 2, sponsored by the Whitman County Historical Society, will be April 16. The society has reserved a 47-seat motor coach to make the trip May 19-20 to tour ancient Glacial Lake Missoula and its outlet through North Idaho.

More than half of the seats have already been reserved, and those considering the trip are encouraged to decide soon before all the spaces are taken, according to Dan Leonard of Johnson who is heading up plans for the tour.

Per seat cost for WCHS members will be $212 or $350 for two members. Non-members will be asked to pay a $20 surcharge, but they can join WCHS for $10 to reduce that cost.

The tour will depart Pullman and travel over Lolo Pass Saturday, May 19, and enter the Bitteroot arm of Glacial Lake Missoula. Saturday night will be spent in Missoula. Sunday the tour will return west along the Clark Fork River into Idaho along the top of Lake Pend Oreille.

Those interested are encouraged to send a $100 deposit as soon as possible to the WCHS treasurer at Box 67 in Colfax. Full payment will be due April 16. Refunds and cancellations will be provided through April 30.
