Colfax high vocalists get top ratings at state festival

Fourteen Colfax High School choir students performed at the State Solo & Ensemble Festival at Central Washington University in Ellensburg April 27 – 28. The students all received superior and excellent ratings for their performances. More than 5,000 music students from 4A-2B schools performed earlier at regional festivals and the top 500 first place winners were chosen to perform at state. Colfax soloists were Lindsay Webber, Katie Largent and Erica Eng. Colfax ensemble members included Kelsey Nails, Brent Conrad, Lucas Lyon, Webber, Kyle McNaughton, Denver Campbell, Jenny Hansen, Katie Largent, Ali Shirley, Kirbee Barney, Eng, Lizzy May, Kindra Kneale, Holly Rimbey and Hollis Higginson. Pictured above is the Colfax mixed ensemble which includes, from the left, Largent, Hansen, Campbell, McNaughton, Conrad, Higginson, Nails and Webber. Parts of the competition numbers will be performed at the Spring Pops Concert May 22 under the direction of Cary Cammack.
