Cocaine Leads to Conviction

Chris Fitzgerald, 22, Pullman, was sentenced to 364 days in jail with 363 suspended Dec. 7 after he pleaded guilty to an amended charge of solicitation to possess a controlled substance. He was also fined $5,000 and ordered to pay costs and fees.

Fitzgerald was charged with possession of cocaine last May after Pullman Police responded to a report of a man hitting a vehicle. The police report said after Fitzgerald was arrested as a suspect and in the process of making the arrest an officer spotted papers hanging out of his wallet. The arrest report said the papers contained cocaine.
