Bob Hickman lands Stampede art honor

Bob Hickman of Post Falls, former proprietor of Hickman Boot & Saddlery in Colfax, has been selected as one of 80 artists to participate in the centennial edition show of the Calgary Stampede next July. The Stampede extends the honor on a one-time basis to Western artists from all over the world.

Artists are honored at a special reception on the Wednesday before the stampede and display their work during the event. The Stampede runs July 6-15 this year.

Hickman said he plans to display some of the chaps he has made and decorated. He also plans to display some of his Yakima Canutt memorabilia....
