Arts impact topic set at C of C meet

March 14, 2012

The impact of the arts will be the topic of a presentation by the Colfax Arts Council at the March 20 noon Chamber of Commerce luncheon in the Norma McGregor Room at the Colfax Library. The luncheon is open to the public and everyone is encouraged to attend.
Pullman artist and instructor Megan Oldenstadt will share statistical and anecdotal information demonstrating how art positively affects children’s lives, including their performance in school and their future as well-rounded citizens.
Ann Marra, Colfax artist and graphic designer, will discuss a survey done by the Craft Organization Development Association (CODA) related to the economic impact of the arts within a community.
Library Director Kristie Kirkpatrick will update the community about the recently announced Bettie Steiger Community Enrichment Center.
Lunch from Subway Sandwiches of Colfax will include a sandwich, salad, beverage and cookie for $7.
