‘Food for fines’ donors tally $1,020

A total of 135 residents donated $1,020 in non-perishable food for the 12th annual “Food for Fines” drive conducted by Whitman County Library. Donations came in throughout Whitman County. Almost one third of the donations were not involved with waiving overdue fines.
Food for Fines is conducted each February when local food pantries report more people struggling with high heat bills and difficulty feeding their families.
