Deadlines approach for voter registration

The Nov. 8 General Election is quickly approaching, and so are voter registration deadlines.

The online and mail-in voter registration deadline is next Monday, Oct. 10. To register online, voters will need either a Washington state driver license or ID card.

For mail-in registration, voters should request registration forms online and then fill those out and send them back postmarked by Oct. 10. Voters currently registered also have until this date to update any information, such as mailing address.

Voters not currently registered can complete in-person registration, for which the deadline is Oct. 31. Local residents can complete in-person registration at either the Pullman City Clerk's office, located at 325 SE Paradise St. in Pullman, or the Whitman County Elections Department, N. 304 Main St. in Colfax.

Ballots will be mailed out 18 days prior to the election, meaning they should hit mailboxes Friday, Oct. 21. They are due back to the elections office by 8 p.m. Nov. 8. Ballots postmarked by Nov. 8 will also be accepted.

An access disability unit (ADU) will be available at the elections department in Colfax beginning Oct. 19 through Nov. 7. It will be available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and also on Election Day from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m.

Pullman League of Women Voters will be at the Colfax branch of the Whitman County Library today, Oct. 6, from 3 to 6:30 p.m. to assist individuals with voter registration.
